Today is our first day of school! Marissa and I woke up a little early so we could stop at the market before class because the market only stays open til 2 and I have class all day on Mondays. I ended up getting some bread and bananas, but that’s really all I needed to pack my lunch because I bought salami meat earlier in the week. Marissa and I were so anxious to go to school and everyone was taking so long (not really) to get ready for school so we started chanting/singing “first day of school” and we were doing the “first day of school” dance. The first class was Elementary Italian I which I have with Marissa, Danielle, Lauren, Jackie, Sarah, and most of our comm./journalism friends. Our teacher is the cute little lady named Gloria and she has pretty funky style. She was wearing orange jeans tucked into these brown boots with a navy shirt and a purple scarf and her hair is in this cute grayish/blonde bob. My second class I had with all of the comm./journalism kids and it’s called Comparative Media. Our teacher for that class is this man named Fabio, he is young and a tad crazy it seems (and I think I mean crazy in a good way). He is obsessed with American television even though he’s from Rome and told us he tapes a ton of shows and watches them on his laptop when he travels. My third class was European Issues and we had this woman as a teacher whose name is escaping me at the moment. But she has a great accent (like all of our teachers) and opens her mouth really large to say certain words and says “hmm!” a lot which I find to be typical of different Italian speaking people.
My roommates and I all decided to stay at the school after European Issues to use the internet because WE STILL DON’T HAVE INTERNET! I was able to skype my mom and my one best friend from Kent, Max, and roommate Ryan from Kent! It was so nice seeing all of them and it definitely put me in a really good mood. But before I started skypeing we all decided to go right next door to this pizza place and I ordered a pizza with 3 different kinds of meat on it..it was huge and I demolished ¾ of it! So good! I got to the school around 10:20 because Italian started at 10:45 and we didn’t leave til 9:30ish so I basically was at the school the entire day, but you gotta do what you gotta do!
