Today is the last day of the first week of school! I had Roman Achievement again this morning and my roommates and I have decided that our teacher reminds us of Mrs. Frizzle from the Magic School Bus! After Roman Achievement is Italian and we were sitting in class when all of a sudden there was a lot of whispering behind me. Turns out that of course our internet wasn’t fixed within 48 hours like they said (no surprise there), so they gave us the option to walk to this place called Student Cells and get a temporary internet pen drive. However, after Italian we all have our Italian Art History course which was on site today – we had to meet in Piazza Repubblica for class. It was extremely interesting having a class on site because we had these little boxes that we plugged headphones into in order to hear our teacher when we walked around and having to take notes in the freezing cold while standing and looking and everything was a little intense but I learned so much and I know I’m going to love this class!
Of course as soon as we were done with Art History we ran back to our apartments to get our computers and go to the Student Cells place. We got in there and the guy said with all of our computers it would take around an hour, so we went shopping for a while and came back to discover that he was having with mine and Marissa’s computers – he claims that Dells are terrible computers and that we should really consider getting a Mac…whatever. But finally he got the pen drives to work and we went straight home to get on the internet from the comfort of our humble abode. We invited people to come over to our house to either have dinner or come over after dinner and hang out..but everyone already seemed to have plans with each other that didn’t include us, so nobody came over. But honestly, with all of us finally getting internet at home for the first time, none of us were really bothered by their absence. We ended up just making pasta with meat sauce for dinner and it was so yummy! I swear everything just tastes better here!
p.s. Today I saw my first group of gypsies walking to school. I mean, I have seen beggars around, but never a whole group huddled together in their velvet skirts and get-up. And while my class was clustered together listening to our art history teacher explain this Piazza when all of a sudden this gypsy weaseled her way through our entire group clanking her coin in her cup begging for money..it was extremely outrageous and obnoxious and annoying.
